Overview of the Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan Dashboard

  • The New York State Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan 2018-2023 is a strategic planning document that outlines measurable objectives; suggested strategies; and evidence based, evidence-informed, best and promising practices focusing on seven priority areas, representing the cancer continuum, including: Cancer-related Health Equity, Health Promotion and Cancer Prevention; Early Detection; Treatment; Survivorship; Palliative Care; and Health Care Workforce. Tracking indicators were developed to access the current population's health status and to monitor progress towards meeting Plan priority area objectives. The Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan was developed by the New York State Cancer Consortium (NYSCC) with input from hundreds of organizations and individuals, including the New York State Department of Health and the American Cancer Society. The NYSCC is a statewide network of individuals and organizations that collaborate to address problems relating to cancer in New York and includes representatives from the public and private sectors engaged in research; surveillance; prevention; early detection; education; diagnosis and treatment; management; support; rehabilitation and palliative care. The mission of NYSCC is to reduce the humans and economic burden of cancer in New York State.
