 Action Description for DOH Webpage:The Administrative Review Board overturns the Hearing Committee’s July 17, 2020 penalty, and places the physician assistant on probation for three years with conditions upon their return to practice in New York State. Before the physician assistant can resume practicing in New York State they must provide thirty days advance notice to the Director of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (Director).
 Misconduct Description for DOH Webpage:The Administrative Review Board affirmed the Hearing Committee’s determination that the physician assistant committed professional misconduct by having been disciplined by the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners, Physician Assistant Advisory Committee, for indiscriminate prescribing of controlled dangerous substances (CDS), repeated acts of negligence, and failing to maintain medical records.
  License Limitations or Conditions for DOH Webpage: Before the physician assistant can resume practicing in New York State they must provide thirty days advance notice to the Director of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct (Director). During the period of probation, the physician assistant may practice medicine only under monitoring by another physician assistant, in addition to practicing under physician supervision. The physician assistant monitor must be approved by the Director and may not be a friend, family member or staff member/employee at the same practice. In the first year of probation, the physician assistant must successfully complete Continuing Medical Education courses, approved by the Director, in record keeping; ethics and prescribing controlled substances.
