 Action Description for DOH Webpage:This action is not disciplinary in nature but modifies the previously imposed penalty issued on August 22, 2017 under BPMC Order number 17-230, by terminating the license suspension and imposing probation for five years with conditions. Prior to engaging in the active practice as a physician assistant, he must successfully complete the Med-Challenger for physician assistants or another intensive physician assistant refresher course covering Internal Medicine, Primary Care or Family Practice approved by the Director (Director) of the Office of Professional Medical Conduct. The physician assistant may not commence practicing as a physician assistant in New York State until all proposed monitors have been approved by the Director. On March 7, 2017 the physician assistant was subject to censure and reprimand with probation for five years and a $1,500 fine.
 Misconduct Description for DOH Webpage:The physician assistant admitted guilt to the charge of having violated a board order by testing positive for alcohol. Previously on March 7, 2017, the physician assistant had not contested the charge of committing professional misconduct by having been convicted in Nassau County Court, Nassau County, State of New York of Driving While Intoxicated.
  License Limitations or Conditions for DOH Webpage: The physician assistant may not commence practicing as a physician assistant in New York State until all proposed monitors have been approved by the Director. During the period of probation the physician assistant may only practice medicine when his practice is being monitored by qualified health care professionals and supervised by a licensed physician on-site at all locations. The physician assistant shall neither treat nor prescribe medications for himself, friends or family members and may only treat or prescribe medications to patients with whom he has a legitimate physician assistant-patient relationship and for a legitimate medical purpose. During the first two years of probation the physician assistant shall not prescribe, administer, order or dispense any controlled substances and his practice hours are also limited during this time.
